Brandon Gets His Dream Job
Humboldt County, KS
Brandon, a graduate of Chanute High School. enjoys attending high school sports events, worshipping at his church, spending time with his girlfriend, and going to the races in Humboldt.
On the IDD (Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities) HCBS (Home and Community-Based) Waiver, Brandon really wanted a paid job. With paid supports from Tri-Valley Developmental Services, he learned to complete applications, how to interview, and how to focus on his work skills. And he got his dream job with Cleaver Farm & Home, a third generation, family-owned building supply business in Chanute, KS, that opened its doors in 1946.
Brandon tapes boxes, cleans, and helps customers. On Fridays, Brandon really looks forward to riding in the "big truck."
For Brandon, paid employment is an opportunity to meet new people, make friends, learn new things — and earn money!
Being a paid employee has allowed him to attend his favorite sporting events, car races, go on vacation, and purchase Chanute Comets and Humboldt racing t-shirts, which makes Brandon very happy and allows him to live a better quality of life.
Congratulations to Brandon on his successful employment!
