David Donohue has nearly two decades of experience in health care, disability rights and advocacy, and public policy/communications.
Over the past seven years, David has worked closely with LifeShare to help expand on its mission to create the most empowering home and community-based supports and programming for people with developmental disabilities. Recently, David and Josh Boynton, LifeShare's CEO, have been leading a team in Kansas in systems design for a non-medical, whole-person approach to Medicaid Managed Care for people with developmental disabilities. Kansas is the first state in the nation to develop a Medicaid Managed care program covering both long-term and acute care for people with developmental disabilities.
Over the course of his career, David has also worked with Medical Home and rehabilitation organizations focused in the field of developmental and physical disabilities, and traumatic brain injury.
David’s career began in broadcast journalism, evolved into the field of public policy, public relations and marketing, and has always had a focus on health care and disability rights.
David has served on many non-profit boards, including Families in Transition and several health care boards.
David is married to his high school sweetheart. They have two wonderful children and a crazy rescue dog that is part Boxer and believed to be part horse!
